Remote software is something I use sparingly. But if and when I need to transfer huge amounts of data between my computers, there is nothing easier or more effective. I first became familiar with this software when several years ago at work, I needed to have the out of town head office help desk fix some errors and update some of my software configurations. Through the internet, they were able to literally take over and take control of my computer and find out the issues that were causing the problems and fix them quickly. For personal non-commercial
usage TeamViewer provides a free version of their latest software Ver 6. I have no need to take control of another computer in another room at home. But transferring huge amount of data to and from home computers is quick and painless. Furthermore, there is a portable version though I have yet to try it out.
